Design showcase from Boston Consulting Group (BCG)

As the practice lead for digital design in the APAC region, I played a pivotal role in building and leading a multidisciplinary team of managers, researchers, designers, and developers. This team was instrumental in establishing a newly conceived business vertical as a core strategic driver within the consulting process.

 

While much of the work remains confidential, I’ve sanitized the projects below to showcase the significant impact they had on the business. These projects not only helped the newly formed consulting practice at BCG thrive but also unlocked new thinking and possibilities for many Fortune 500 companies worldwide.

I am deeply grateful to my teammates, stakeholders, and colleagues whose collaboration and insights helped shape these outcomes and made these projects successful.

BCG One: Bringing the whole of BCG to employees fingertips

In February 2020, during my first few weeks at BCG, I came across an opportunity with the Strategic Initiatives team to reimagine how employees connect with the organization beyond client work.

 

The vision was to create a single mobile platform, that brought together every non-case-related aspect of a BCGer’s life into one seamless digital experience.

With just months to deliver an MVP before the end of the financial year, this became the first full-stack product design project for a newly formed digital design team under a new vertical. I saw it as the perfect opportunity to prove the value of design at scale, building awareness, trust, and momentum for design-driven initiatives within the firm.

Our goal was clear: transform Life@BCG from an idea into a mobile companion that makes daily interactions effortless while strengthening the sense of belonging across the organization.

The Minimum Viable (Lovable) Product shipped in six months. 

Project Impact

Rapid adoption: Achieved 70% download rate among BCGers in India on launch day, with active usage rising over 60% within the first quarter, reflecting strong user engagement and intuitive design.

Internal success: The project convinced leadership to scale the platform globally, establishing a benchmark for employee engagement and demonstrating the strategic value of design within BCG.

Design Studio Success: The project established the digital design practice as a strategic growth driver, resulting in new engagements and a portfolio of digital innovation projects for Fortune 500 clients.

Research & Service Design: Leveraging research and service design to identify gaps and launch disruptive business models in travel.

Envisioning the future of brewery production and maintenance through cutting-edge technology and smart, intuitive interfaces.
